Sambazon Inc., a leading supplier of organic beverages made of antioxidant-rich acai, has launched its new premium Antioxidant ElixirTM in custom, single-serve PET bottles from Amcor PET Packaging, the world’s leading producer of PET packaging.

Sambazon decided to showcase its clarified acai beverage in a clear 11oz PET bottle. This is a first for the company, which uses HDPE for its other premium organic beverages.

"Aesthetics and clarity were the key drivers to PET because our goal was to create ‘disruptive’ single-serve packaging for on-the-go consumers,” said Scott Koch, vice president of operations for Sambazon. “And the ability to customize in PET offers the best value proposition to meet the needs of our customers.” PET’s clarity was the deciding factor over HDPE and glass was rejected due to environmental concerns (i.e., heavier, more costly to ship).

The eye-catching bottle features a unique design that incorporates graceful and rounded curves, a slim look, and easy grip and feel. A full-body PET shrink label enhances and highlights the beverage’s deep purple color. Sambazon Antioxidant Elixirs are sweetened naturally with agave and infused with a blend of acai, acerola, and organic botanical extracts. They will be offered in three flavors:
acai berry, acai passion fruit, and acai blackberry and will be available soon nationally in grocery and natural food stores.
