Beverage Plc (ThaiBev) reported its financial results for 2009. The company’s consolidated sales revenue increased by 2.4% to 107.97 bln baht in 2009; EBITDA dropped to 19.91 bln baht from 20.61 bln baht in 2008. Net profit belonging to the company (less minority interests) increased by 2.2% to 10.57 bln baht. ThaiBev’s beer sales volume dropped by 26.1% to 571 mln litres in 2009. Sales revenue from the company’s beer business decreased by 21.5% to 30.2 bln baht. Net profit decreased by 583% compared tao 2008 and amounted to 1.63 bln baht. EBITDA declined by 113.8% compared to previous year.
ThaiBev’s performance in the USA was driven by Chang Beer sales rising by 40% when compared to 2008. The total Import Beer category decreased by 9.2%, the brewer said.
